Want to explore the outdoor world but not sure where to begin?  Unable to survive in the desert without your phone for directions?  This class will give you the basics of how to not only be safe in the wilderness but how to actually enjoy it! You will learn the ten essentials to take on every trip, the principles of Leave No Trace, telling time by the sun, digging cat holes and basic knots.

We will also learn how to read topographic maps and navigate with a compass.  Longitude, latitude and best practices for plotting a course off trail when necessary will all be discussed.  Build confidence in your outdoor skills and learn how to not get lost in the wilderness.
