Instructor: Julie Abels
Art and history are deeply connected, and this course explores both. Students will study the relationship between art, culture, and worldview, focusing on the time period from Ancient History to c.500BC. Each unit highlights a specific artist, style, or cultural movement, and students will create their own artwork inspired by what they learn. Lessons also include foundational art techniques, making this a great class for all levels of artists. This is the first semester of a four-year series (roughly following the same time periods as Susan Wise Bauer’s 4-volume history series, of The Story of the World).
Look for Greek and Roman Art in the Spring.
