In this course, students will learn academic writing skills while crafting compelling essays. From mastering the basics to refining a personal voice, students will learn to write with clarity, confidence, and purpose. The focus will be on persuasive essays, but a variety of essay styles will be introduced to help students become versatile writers.
This class offers practical tools and strategies to elevate your writing to the next level, whether you need to sharpen your skills for high school or college.
In Class:
You can expect to respond to thought-provoking writing prompts, analyze and evaluate texts, and continuously refine your own writing through feedback and revision.
Homework Expectations:
Each week, students will complete a written assignment, such as an essay or report. While the time commitment may vary by individual, most students can expect to spend about 1–2 hours per week on homework.
