Instructor: Greg Cooke
This course is designed to take Quest students on a constructive journey through the realms of photography and videography. Students will gain a solid understanding of the history behind these art forms while also becoming familiar with essential equipment. The students will cover key photography gear, including lighting equipment, lenses, tripods, and reflectors. By the end of the course, students will have acquired the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to embark on their creative journey in photography and videography.
Students will need a DSLR or Mirrorless camera and a subscription to Lightroom or Photoshop
Introduction to the course (week 1)
Introduction to the history of photography (week 2)
Introduction to all photography gear (week 3)
Introduction to fundamentals and introduction to using the camera (weeks 4 - 8)
Introduction to the different styles of photography, from portraits, landscape, and real estate (weeks 9 and 10)
Introduction to Photoshop (week 11)
Going out into the field (week 12)
Introduction to videography, including familiarizing with videography equipment (week 13)
Introduction to storytelling (weeks 14 and 15)
Introduction to filming and Davinci Resolve (week 16 to end)
