Math Mania - Fraction Action

*All Math Mania courses are supplemental to an at-home math course. Age AND math skills should be considered when determining what math mania level is best for each student.*

This class will prepare students for algebra and higher level math classes. Students will learn to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. They will thoroughly understand how to manipulate fractions, enabling them to expand and reduce with ease. We will cover percents and decimals and how they relate to fractions. The last session of this class we will work on algebra.
All of these things will be taught through manipulatives for visually learning and games to review concepts. Students will be required to take notes, and there will be homework to complete each week.

Students must know their multiplication facts and long division.

Students will need Pencils, colored pencils, notebook, and dry erase marker.

We will cover definitions, adding, subtracting, carrying, and borrowing of fractions and mixed numbers.

We will cover adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators as well as multiplying and dividing fractions. Students will expand and reduce fractions and will learn how percents, fractions, and decimals relate.

We will cover percents, decimals, and fractions and how they relate to one another.

We learn how to solve algebraic expressions, building on the concepts learned through fraction manipulation.
