Instructor: Ingrid Moss
You will enjoy doing projects and participating in class discussions to develop critical thinking skills about the books we read. You will create games, skits, posters, book jackets, book summaries, and more. Our projects will reinforce the characteristics of each genre. In this class you will read both fiction and non-fiction literature that includes different genres and writing styles. You will reflect and make personal connections to real life experiences. You will analyze, evaluate, and form your own opinions. Biblical verses and values will be an important part of our class discussions. You will improve your writing skills as you are planning, creating, revising, and producing your final projects. Respect for classmates’ opinions as you interact with them will be emphasized. There will be a weekly homework assignment which may be reading chapters at home, completing class assignments, or writing reflections based on our readings and class discussions.
Students will need 3 ring binder; standard sheet protectors, loose-leaf paper, 5x7 notecards, paperback chapter books that we read which will be announced a month before we start them.
