This course is for the beginning guitar student. The class is taught in group classes. No prior guitar experience is
required. This class requires outside study and practice,

Materials needed-Acoustic guitar, tuner, folder, pencil, picks

Lesson Book: Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1
Published by Hal Leonard Corporation.

Students will learn-
-Names of strings and how to tune instrument
-Parts of guitar
-Proper form and posture for playing guitar
-How to read standard notation and play chords, melodies and rhythms on guitar.
-Basic guitar maintenance
-Some fundamental theory will be taught.

Students will need to practice daily for minimum of 10 minutes.  This will increase to 20 minutes as we progress through book.

 

Fine Arts Festival performance mandatory.
