Discover and Dive into Art

Instructor: Ingrid Moss

Have fun exploring and creating art with many art media materials:  tissue paper, tempera paints, watercolor, sketching pencils, and oil pastels.  Make collages, mixed media pictures,  prints, paintings, and drawings.  Learn about colors, color mixing, shading and lighting techniques.  Practice painting still life pictures as well as landscapes.  Look at objects from different perspectives.  Get exposure to different styles of art work from rock painting, to realistic art, to techniques of impressionism, cubism, and dabble a little in creating abstract art.  You will get a good idea of all of the ways artists work to create different types of art.  You will have a chance to talk about your artwork with your classmates in weekly class reflection discussions. Biblical principals of encouragement, praise, kindness, generosity, patience, and listening will be discussed.  Biblical verses will be brought into our weekly lessons.
