What's the difference between a Free Response Question and a Short Answer Question? How do I tackle document based essays with only 15 minutes on the clock? The volume and scope of writing tasks required in college can leave unprepared students overwhelmed and exhausted. A strong command of the basics in grammar, mechanics, syntax and standard writing conventions provide students with the tools necessary to efficiently tackle all the other writing assignments beyond the dreaded essay. This class will not only break down the Reading/Writing section of the SAT/PSAT into manageable strategies for success, but will also deconstruct the writing process to build back quality sentences and paragraphs specifically tailored toward efficiency in the shorter, timed writing tasks. Unlike the marathon conditioning of multi-paragraph essay writing, this class will sprint repeatedly through the building blocks of the writing process to produce confident and consistent college level composition. *Students who would like to gain college credit have the option to complete Modern States assignments for a CLEP test voucher.
